As part of creating CDs and DVDs for the Midwest Training Institute of Hypnosis, I was asked to create a cover for the CD and DVD cases. All in all, there are 28 different CD inserts, all of which vary only in the title box, plus the inside cover, which is a biography of the director of the Institute, Dr. Gisella Zukausky.
The image in the upper left of the front cover is also used on the Institute website, as is the symbol in the upper right. I spent a great deal of time getting the colors to match from the given image to the background and I'm very pleased with how it finally turned out. I added the circular text, which, when viewed under the clear cover of the CD jewel, looks like it is floating above the symbol.
The CD inserts were designed using the supplied software from Avery-Dennison for their type 8693 CD Jewelcase Inserts.
The CD label itself is created using a thermal printer, which only allows for one color. The client specifically requested using the Institute symbol in the label: however, because the software cannot handle text and graphics in the same location, the lower field was created using Adobe Photoshop and inserted into the template.
